The plain version

Controllables is a private career tool built for job seekers. You use it for your own search, your data stays yours, the app’s suggestions are guidance you review rather than actions taken for you, and either of us can end the relationship. The sections below say the same thing more carefully.

The service

Controllables helps you run your own job search: it finds and scores roles against your profile, explains its reasoning, drafts materials for your review, and keeps your pipeline in one place. It is built for job seekers and is not a tool for employers, recruiters, or sourcing candidates. Features change as the service develops, and availability is not guaranteed.

Your account

• You open an account by signing in with your own Google account, and you are responsible for keeping that account secure.
• One account per person, used on your own behalf. Do not share access or use the service for someone else’s search without their knowledge.
• You confirm that the information you provide about yourself is yours to provide and, to your knowledge, accurate. Controllables is only as honest as what it is given.

AI-generated content

Much of what the app produces, scores, market and compensation reads, drafted resumes, emails, and coaching, is generated by artificial intelligence reasoning over your information. It is presented for your review and judgment:

• Nothing is sent, submitted, or published on your behalf without an explicit action from you.
• AI output can be wrong. Verify facts, numbers, and claims before you rely on them or send them to anyone.
• Compensation reads, market analysis, and coaching are informational guidance, not professional, financial, or legal advice, and not a promise of any outcome.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the service for recruiting, sourcing candidates, or on behalf of an employer;
• attempt to access another person’s data, probe or overload the service, or work around its security;
• scrape, resell, or redistribute the service or its output as a product;
• use the service for anything unlawful, or submit content you have no right to submit.

Your content

Everything you put into Controllables, and everything the app builds from it for you, is yours. You grant us only the limited license needed to operate the service: storing your data, processing it with the infrastructure providers named in the Privacy Policy, and generating the features you see. We claim no other rights to it, and we never sell it or share it with employers or recruiters.

Fees

Controllables is a paid subscription. The plans, their prices, and what each one includes are shown before you subscribe, and you confirm the plan and the price before anything is charged.

• New accounts begin with a fourteen-day free trial. A payment method is required to start it, and nothing is charged until the trial ends.
• Subscriptions renew automatically for the period you chose, monthly or annual, at the price shown when you subscribed. You can cancel at any time, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for.
• You can move between plans in either direction, and unused time on your current plan is prorated as credit against the new one.
• We will tell you before any change to the price of your subscription.
• Accounts created during the invite-only beta remain free and are not charged.

Leaving, and being asked to leave

• You can stop using the service at any time.
• Account deletion happens on written request only: email privacy@controllables.ai from the address on your account, and deletion is completed within thirty days of the request (see the Privacy Policy).
• The service does not provide data export or portability.
• We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms or put other users’ data at risk.
• The service may change or be discontinued at any time.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The service is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express, implied, or statutory, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement, all of which are disclaimed. Controllables does not guarantee that any role will be found, any interview granted, or any offer made or improved, and is not responsible for decisions you make based on the service or its output.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Controllables and its operator have zero liability arising out of or relating to the service: our total aggregate liability for any and all claims, under any theory (contract, tort, negligence, statute, or otherwise), is $0, and we are not liable for any damages of any kind, direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or otherwise, including lost opportunities, lost income, or lost data, even if advised of the possibility. You use the service entirely at your own risk. If any part of this limitation is held unenforceable, liability is limited to the smallest amount the law allows.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and any dispute will be resolved in the courts located in Travis County, Texas.

Changes

If these terms change in a meaningful way, the effective date above will be updated and, where the change is significant, communicated in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms.
